Gone, about 1 hour after getting off Shanghai Train Station. Photos of last few days in Taiwan, and of the weekend trip to Singapore with Haidong are gone.
A big challenge facing travelling in China is protecting one's belongings, and life.
Just bought a new one, of identical model. Will guard it well this time.
Apparently the Chinese government forbids access to username.blogspot.com, but allows www.blogger.com ... So I can still post sans fuss.

Sorry to hear about that. Was it stolen or lost? Hopefully, the rest of your stay there will surely be more pleasant.
Mom in Ottawa.
p.s.
1. Roses in our front yard are beautiful.
2. I've got 3 job offers (one in Ottawa, another in Canada/China [Wuxi] and still another in HK)So good things happen to good people and to those who wait with patience.
Feel sorry to those who try to do things like that but one of the reasons is their being "poor" or being short of vision - or tonnel vision - while the sky is unlimited for many others. For example, Katie Couric, a 49-year old female news anchor will get an annual salary of 15 million US for the CBS position occupied by Dan Rather for 44 years. Another would be 500,000 CND donated annually to Ashbury College by those who children study there. Well, wide gap, hugh difference - a poweerful reality...

OK, both our cell phones are lost, plus a stolen wallet on my side...
Holy cow, sad to hear you lost your cell phone and pictures.
You can come back to TW as long as you want.
